About Really Nice Cakes
Really Nice Cakes was founded by Andy Jones, a pastry chef and chocolatier.
Andy decided to start his career as a music technician and musician studying at Kingston University and playing bass guitar and keyboards in rock/metal & jazz bands. Two years later he realised this was not to be and chose to pursue his other love: food.
Andy trained at the Leiths school of food and wine in London for a year, gaining a strong grounding in everything food related. He quickly found employment at the 5 star Cliveden House Hotel, which at the time had a Michelin star. After such valuable experience from the hustle and bustle of the professional kitchen, he decided to go down a different route and found employment at a start-up bakery where he became the head pastry chef.
Andy has always worked in fine dining with a need for excellence in presentation and taste. So he decided it was time to start his own business, where he could be in complete control and could offer what ever the client would want in cake. With a creative background in art & music and the love of fine food, it was the only natural progression for his career.
